Where the work speaks for itself
Luke Redford was born and raised in Southeastern Louisiana, where he began shooting, reloading, and working on guns at an early age alongside his father. He went on to study Animal Science at Louisiana Tech University, spending his free time hunting, trapping, and continuing to develop his feel for firearms.
After college, Luke managed a gun shop and range in North Louisiana — his first real exposure to formal shooting sports. From precision rifle disciplines to cowboy action shooting, rimfire silhouette to trap, he absorbed the industry and everything it had to offer. That experience convinced him to pursue gunsmithing as a career, and he moved to Colorado to attend the Colorado School of Trades, where he received a thorough, well-rounded formal introduction to the trade. While in school he worked concurrently at a well-established local gun shop.
After graduation, Luke's passion for crafting fine firearms never waned — even through a decade working as a commercial and industrial electrician. Throughout that time he continued learning, hunting, and staying close to the competition side of the industry.
Luke made his full-time return to firearms in 2022 and began establishing himself as a professional gunsmith. In 2024, he and his wife Alex relocated to Northwest Arkansas, where Luke quickly found a home at Benton County Gunworks — the shop where he currently works.
